Group-Scoped Patterns

Group-Scoped Patterns extend Aptori’s flexible testing framework by allowing teams to define and manage custom patterns at the group level, in addition to existing global patterns.

Group-Scoped Patterns

Description:
Group-Scoped Patterns extend Aptori’s flexible testing framework by allowing teams to define and manage custom patterns at the group level, in addition to existing global patterns. This enables more tailored and decentralized testing strategies, giving individual teams or business units the autonomy to specify data formats, field names, or value patterns that are unique to their APIs or environments.

Any member of a group can contribute and manage these scoped patterns, allowing for more relevant test input generation and data leak detection across diverse teams—all without affecting other groups or global configurations.

Key Capabilities:

  • Define patterns specific to a group’s data model or domain
  • Enable teams to create and manage patterns independently
  • Improve test precision and leak detection within scoped contexts
  • Combine with global patterns for layered testing coverage

Where to Find It:
Manage Group-Scoped Patterns from the Patterns section. These patterns can be used during scans for all APIs and projects within the group.

Who Can Use It:
Available to Group Owners and Group Members with pattern management permissions.

Why It Matters:
Group-Scoped Patterns empower decentralized teams to test what matters most to them—without adding overhead or risk to other teams’ configurations.
